Rahima Abdullah, Strategic Data Initiative and Analytics Manager
Rahima Abdullah is the Strategic Data Initiative and Analytics Manager on the SEED Foundation’s School Support Team. Rahima has been an educator since 2006. She began her career in education teaching English and Language Arts to middle school students in the private sector. She then taught Theory of Knowledge in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. While she enjoyed working at a private school, there was something missing. After a year working with the GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) grant in a high-poverty middle school, she redirected her goals in education, and went on to obtain her master’s degree from the University of Maryland in Educational Leadership.
Her passion for educational leadership and reform led her to teaching in a title 1 middle school in Prince George’s County, MD. It was here that she truly felt at home. As a middle school reading teacher and drama teacher, Rahima worked to build relationships and help students reach their highest potential. She moved on to serve as the Data Coach and testing coordinator for her middle school where she was able to create data systems that influenced change and improved school culture and climate.
Rahima is dedicated to bringing innovative and engaging educational experiences to all students, especially those in underserved communities. In her spare time, Rahima coaches soccer and basketball, cheers on the sidelines of her kids’ games, and loves to try new workouts and outdoor activities.
