What changes have you noticed in yourself since your SEED graduation?
Since graduating from SEED, I have noticed that I am more mature. I have also realized some of my own abilities and want to do more for myself, instead of depending on family and friends to do things for me. Lastly, I have noticed that a lot of people look up to me, so in some ways I have become a role model, which is cool.
How has the College Transition & Success (CTS) team helped you throughout your college experience?
The CTS team has been super helpful. My advisor during my time at Xavier, Ms. Baker, came and visited me, helped with my financial aid process, offered guidance, helped me meet a few people, like Mr. Brian Neal (a former SEED employee), helped to keep me motivated, gave me countless reasons to finish school, and was always there for me when school got a little tough. The one thing that I admired most about the CTS team, and specifically Ms. Baker, was that if they didn’t have the answer they would point me in the right direction to someone who did know the answer.
What did you like best about Xavier University?
I liked that Xavier was a smaller school, much like SEED. The student/teacher ratio was perfect for my learning style. I also loved their basketball program, and I liked Cincinnati, where Xavier is located. It is home to one of the best business schools in the Midwest and it is surrounded by some of the top fortune 500 companies, which really caught my attention.
What 3 adjectives best describe you?
Three adjectives that best describe me are: hardworking, energetic, and determined.
