KuWanda Brathwaite, Director of Social Emotional Learning

During a career that spans almost two decades, KuWanda Brathwaite has dedicated her time to promoting the importance of mental health in urban communities and public education. As the current Director of Social Emotional Learning, she will support campuses in successfully implementing a comprehensive, culturally affirming, and integrated approach to social and emotional learning throughout the SEED network.

 Prior to joining SEED, KuWanda worked as a school counselor in Washington, DC, where she advocated for students’ well-being, while maximizing their social, educational, and career development potential to prepare for life beyond school. KuWanda received her Bachelor of Science in Information Management and Technology from Syracuse University and her Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from HowardUniversity. Understanding the importance of self-care, she enjoys international travel, thrifting, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
